Galp Hackathon Retail 4.0 harnesses the power of AI
The customer journey in service stations has been the same for many years and implementing technology to improve it has been an objective for quite some time now.
Having that in mind, Galp Hackathon Retail 4.0 challenges the hacker community to propose solutions that will improve the typical customer journey in service stations.
For that purpose, two different challenges were presented:
Challenge #1: Car Wash services proposal based on AI, weather rules, and computer vision.
Leveraging Artificial Intelligence algorithms to visually identify the level of dirtiness of cars, grading vehicles so Galp can suggest car wash services to the customers.
Challenge #2: Optimize in-store product assortments and estimate potential sales volume.
Leveraging Artificial Intelligence algorithms to identify trends, handle historical data and combine various data sets of different origins to optimize in-store product assortments and estimate potential sales volume.
These challenges targeted anyone passionate about problem solving and participants will benefit from support from Galp, as well as a series of other benefits and prizes supported by Galp Upcoming Energies.
After 3 months, 154 applications, 28 different countries and 42 projects, the DEMO DAY took place on June 30th. On this day, the 6 incredible finalists – CUIDA, Clean masters, Elish, Eyewash, Latintech and LinearTeam – had the opportunity to pitch their solutions to the Galp judges. In the end, CUIDA (Car Unified Inspection for Damage and Dirt with Ai) distinguished itself from the rest by presenting an innovative solution to solve the smart car wash recommendation challenge.
We thank all the participants, finalists and the winner for the hard work they put into their projects.
