Galp Upcoming Energies and AWS accelerate Clean Energy | Upcoming Energies

Climate change is the major challenge of the 21st century and organizations worldwide are aware that without a major acceleration in clean energy innovation, we will not be able to reach net-zero emissions.

That was why AWS launched the Clean Energy Accelerator, to address this issue by catalyzing innovation and supporting some of the most innovative startups that are helping transform the future of energy. This is the second year in a row that Galp has participated in the program.

In the 2022 edition, 12 startups were selected from over 424 applicants from 58 countries. For five weeks, these 12 startups had a chance to further develop their ideas through technical training in machine learning, analytics, and high-performance computing.

The accelerator culminated in an innovation showcase in Convento do Beato, Lisbon. The event provided startups an opportunity to present their clean energy capabilities to an audience of leading energy corporations, investors, and advisors.
