Innovation Day, the event dedicated to Innovation at Galp | Upcoming Energies

Innovation is not possible without cooperation and, with that thought in mind, Galp's innovation team shared its current and future projects with both employees and partners of change.

The first day of the event, July 7, began with Paul Cheek, executive director and faculty at MIT, who reminded that a true innovator must have the spirit of a pirate and the skills of a Navy Seal. Then it was the turn of Ana Casaca, Head of Innovation at Galp, to present the meaning of innovation in our company and what the future holds. The morning was then dedicated to the Leadership Team, to find out more about the Innovation projects at Galp and ask questions. In addition, Galp's first startup engagement program, Startup The Future, was officially launched.

During the afternoon of July 7, other companies were invited to visit Galp, for the "Corporate Accelarators Get Together". The companies present were the Ageas Group, Corticeira Amorim, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Bayer, Bondalti, Brisa, CTT - Correios de Portugal, CUF - Hospitais e Clínicas, EDP, Efacec, Fidelidade, Hovione, Grow by José de Mello, Lusíadas Saúde, Mota-Engil, NOS SGPS, Novabase, PRIO, REN, SAP, Semapa, SONAE MC, SONAE Sierra, The Navigator Company and Worten. This event was the ideal opportunity for Galp to share its innovative projects and be challenged by its peers.

Finally, the 8th of July was a day open to everyone at Galp. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about innovation in the areas of Production and Operations, Downstream, Renewables and Energy Management, and Open Innovation, as well as getting to know what is planned for the creation of the Matosinhos Future Hub.
