Galp Upcoming Energies supports 1st edition of SIM Conference | Upcoming Energies

Between May 2nd and 4th, the first edition of the SIM Conference (Startups & Investment Matching) was held at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Center. Through a showcase with an exhibition area for Startups and Incubators, as well as Reverse Pitch and Startup Pitch sessions, the conference organized by Startup Portugal created opportunities for interaction between the different people involved in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The event featured more than 90 national and international speakers, including keynotes, talks, panels and fireside chats. Ana Casaca, Global Head of Innovation, was present at a fireside chat on the topic of "Escaping the Pilot Dead Valley", while Manuel Andrade, Head of Open Innovation, was responsible for running a workshop on "The role of Innovation in Energy Transition".

During the three-day event, Galp's Innovation team also had the opportunity to support NakedEnergy, one of the winning start-ups in the Startup The Future in 2023 program, which aims to accelerate the transition to net-zero carbon emissions by decarbonizing heat.
