Galp supports team of students building a hydrogen car | Upcoming Energies

Galp is a main Sponsor of Técnico Fuel Cell (TFC), a team composed of students from Instituto Superior Técnico – IST, that is working on the development of a hydrogen powered car with focus on efficiency and sustainability. Galp’s support allowed TFC to acquire the PEM Fuel Cell, one of the most important components of the project. The students' team will ultimately be participating in the worldwide competition organized by SHELL – a SHELL Eco Marathon.

Ana Casaca, Global Head of Innovation, and Manuel Andrade, Head of Open Innovation, had the opportunity to visit the installations at IST and acquire a better understanding of the project being developed.

This is another example of Galp’s activities with emphasis on collaboration and co-creation. By working closely with universities such as IST, Galp can foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, where ideas and expertise are shared and integrated, enhancing Galp's answer to the challenge of energy transition.
