Galp goes ahead with pilot project at Eurostars Cascais Hotel | Upcoming Energies

The project aims to install a solution (Chiller/Heat Pump) that will enable the electrification of thermal needs related to domestic hot water and room air conditioning, reducing emissions associated with existing boilers by more than 50%.

On 25 January, the new machine was installed on the roof of the hotel and integrated with the existing system, including the building's centralised technical management (SGTC).

The project is scheduled to last one year, during which time monthly reports will be produced analysing the performance and savings generated, both in economic terms and in terms of CO2 emissions.

At the end of the project, depending on the results obtained, its continuity will be analysed, as well as the potential for replicating this technology in other hotels in the Galp portfolio.

The project partners are Trane, responsible for supplying, installing and maintaining the new solution, and DTWay, responsible for integrating it with the existing SGTC.
