Colmeia is a program that aims to boost entrepreneurship and energy transition in Matosinhos, bringing together talent, start-ups and the entire community around sustainable solutions.

For applications, there are two initiatives:

- and IN.STARTUP, which challenges national and international start-ups to approach solutions that can be implemented in Matosinhos, adding value to its community.

At the launch event, Ana Casaca, Head of Innovation at Galp, highlighted that initiatives that promote social innovation in collaborative models are fundamental for the progress and growth of society as a whole: “Through the Colmeia program, we want to train the people of Matosinhenses to can make their own path to the energy transition with solutions that fit their real needs, challenges and aspirations. We believe that only in this way, with a community-centric approach, can we create a more prosperous and sustainable future for all.” For Marta Pontes, councilor of CM Matosinhos: “This is a project that starts in Matosinhos, but which aims to be a local, national and international reference. We are looking forward to seeing how our citizens and startups will respond to this challenge.”
